Nairobi, Kenya – President Abdirahman Mohamed Irro of Somaliland met with Kenyan President William Ruto on Thursday at State House, Nairobi, to discuss key areas of mutual interest between the two sides.
“We had the honor of being hosted by President William Ruto at State House, Nairobi, where we engaged in discussions regarding the shared interests of our countries – Kenya and Somaliland,” President Irro stated on social media.
The meeting marks a significant step in strengthening diplomatic ties and cooperation in areas such as trade, regional security, and development. While specific agreements were not disclosed, both leaders are expected to continue dialogue aimed at fostering closer collaboration.
Kenya has previously expressed interest in expanding its engagement with Somaliland, particularly in trade and port access, while the latter seeks broader international recognition and economic partnerships.
