Kenya exported 81 tons of miraa to Somalia in the last four days.
Statistics show that Kenya exported miraa worth around $1.9 million to Somalia, its neighbor in the East Africa region.
Felix Mutwiri, the Director of Miraa Pyrethrum and Other Industrial Crops, confirmed the news to the media on August 1.
He said the two countries had resumed the miraa trade since last weekend.
Mutwiri confirmed that the Kenyan government had cleared 19 out of 22 traders by issuing them with export permits.
Further, Mutwiri said Kenya will export even more miraa to Somalia in the coming days as it clears more traders.
