A regional administrator in Kenya has warned Somalia National Army (SNA) about the recent grenade attack in Mandera Town.
The administrator, Nicodemus Ndalana, who is the North Eastern Regional Commissioner, said SNA is provoking Kenya Defense Forces (KDF).
Further, Ndalana said Kenya is likely to respond unkindly to “Somalia aggression.”
His comments were in reference to a recent Rocket Propelled Grenade (RPG) attack allegedly by SNA troops against their KDF counterparts.
At the time, KDF forces were on a routine patrol along the border.
The grenade hit the finance offices of the County Government of Mandera. Fortunately, nobody was injured during the attack.
Mr. Ndalana, who was addressing journalists, called the SNA action “unacceptable.”
“The RPG attack targeted KDF soldiers. It was thrown from the Somalia side. I find their act unacceptable,” said Ndalana.
Additionally, Ndalana has requested a meeting between the county’s security team, under the leadership of the County Commissioner, and Bula Hawa administrators.
