Kenya’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has expressed its regret over the decision by the Federal Government of Somalia (FGS) to expel its ambassador.
On Sunday, November 29, FGS expelled Lt. Gen. (Rtd) Lucas Tumbo from Somalia and ordered him back to Nairobi.
In the same breath, FGS also ordered its Ambassador to Kenya, Mohamud Ahmed Tarsan back to Mogadishu with immediate effect.
On Monday, Kamau Macharia, the Principal Secretary in the foreign affairs ministry, expressed regret over the turn of events.
Macharia said that Kenya would take time to evaluate Somalia’s decision.
Eventually, he promised that the Kenyan government would respond to this development using appropriate channels.
