Kenya has withdrawn the security of a Women’s Representative who pledged allegiance to President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo of the Federal Government of Somalia (FGS).
Anab Subow Gure, the Garissa Women Rep, had her security withdrawn on Monday, December 21.
Gure not only pledged allegiance to Farmaajo but also installed his portrait on the wall of her office after removing that of Kenya’s President Uhuru Kenyatta.
Currently, Kenya and Somalia are not in the best of terms after a series of diplomatic clashes in the last 1-2 years.
Last week, Somalia recalled its diplomats from the Somali Embassy to Kenya.
Additionally, Farmaajo’s administration ordered diplomats at the Kenyan Embassy in Somalia to leave the country within the next seven days.
