Kenya has announced that it would not accept the outcome of the maritime case with Somalia.
On October 8, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that it wouldn’t accept jurisdiction of the International Court of Justice (ICJ) on the matter.
The two neighboring nations have been at loggerheads for long over their claim to the waters of the Indian Ocean.
Somalia argues that Kenya has encroached on its waters.
On its part, Kenya claims that it only uses its waters and not Somalia’s.
ICJ is scheduled to deliver a ruling on the long-running maritime conflict between the two East African nations.
In March this year, Kenya appealed to the ICJ to delay the case.
However, ICJ declined the request after giving in to past requests by the Kenyan government.
