Kenyan Special Forces killed an Al-Shabaab militant on January 23 during a military operation conducted in Mandera County.
The Kenyan soldiers carried out the military operation between Guticha and Olla in Mandera north.
Their operation took place a few weeks after Governor Ali Roba said that 50 percent of Mandera County is now under the control of Al-Shabaab militants.
Kenyan forces also arrested one more militant during Saturday’s operation.
Lately, clashes involving security agents and the extremists in the northern parts of Kenya have increased substantially.
The increased clashes come at a time when Somalia is preparing for elections in the first two months of 2021.
