Kenyan Liaison Office Opened in Somaliland

Kenya has opened a liaison office in the breakaway nation of Somaliland.

News regarding this momentous event broke out on Tuesday, September 7.

The new Kenyan Liaison Office in Somaliland would be based in Hargeisa, the capital city of this breakaway nation.

Kenya and Somaliland have enjoyed solid diplomatic relations, which was enhanced last year when President Uhuru Kenyatta hosted his counterpart President Muse Bihi Abdi.

The Kenyan Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed this development.

Consequently, a team comprising four Kenyan officers is to start working at the liaison office with immediate effect.

Last year, Kenyatta and Bihi agreed to open respective liaison offices in Kenya and Somaliland respectively.
