A Kenyan Member of Parliament (MP) claims that the West created the Al-Shabaab terror group.
Farah Maalim, the new Dadaab MP after emerging victorious in the August 9 elections, made this claim on his Twitter handle on September 23.
In his view, Al-Shabaab is the creation of not only Western intelligence but also Meles Zenawi.
Zenawi served as the President of Ethiopia between 1991 and 1995 before returning as Prime Minister from 1995-2012.
Maalim also claimed that the latest incursions by Al-Shabaab terrorists into Ethiopia are part of the plans by foreign powers to destabilize the country.
He claims the incursions enjoy the support of the West, Egypt, and Gulf states.
