Somalia’s Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre recently welcomed Kenyan mediators working to ease the political tension between the Federal Government of Somalia and Jubaland’s leadership, headed by President Ahmed Madobe.
Prime Minister Barre hosted the Kenyan delegation at his office on Tuesday evening.
The disagreement centers around the approach to upcoming national and regional elections, with President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud’s administration and Jubaland’s government holding differing views on the electoral framework.
Kenya’s involvement aims to foster dialogue and resolve these tensions, promoting unity and stability within Somalia ahead of the elections.
