Kenya’s AMISOM Contingent Gets a New Commander

The Kenya Defense Forces (KDF) contingent serving under the African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM) has a new commander.

Brigadier Jattani Gula took over the reins on Thursday, February 24.

He takes over from the departing Brigadier Jeff Nyagah whose tour of duty has come to an end after being in charge for the last year.

The handing over ceremony took place in Dhobley, where the Kenyan troops are based.

While taking over, Brig. Gula commended Brig. Nyagah for the exemplary work done during his tour of duty.

He pledged to continue working closely with Somali National Army (SNA).

On his part, Brig. Nyagah highlighted the steadfastness of the troops that served under him during his time in charge.
