Kenya’s Director of Public Prosecutions Claims Al-Shabaab Targets Him

Kenya’s Director of Public Prosecutions, Noordin Haji, claims that his life is in danger.

On November 6, Haji made these claims while speaking on Spice FM.

When asked to provide details, Haji said that Al-Shabaab targeted him and his deceased father – ex-Garissa County Senator Yusuf Haji – during the 2013 Westgate Mall attack.

He said that the post-Westgate Mall attack intelligence reports bear him witness.

“As an individual and family, Al-Shabaab continues threatening us because of the work that we did during the Westgate attack,” Haji said.

Haji was appointed the DPP in April 2018.

He further clarifies that the threats by Al-Shabaab will not deter him or his family from serving the nation.
