President Uhuru Kenyatta of Kenya is to hold discussions with President Muse Bihi Abdi of Somaliland on wide-ranging issues.
Kenyatta is hosting Bihi, who is on an official visit to Kenya, the first he is making to the East African nation since assuming power in October 2017.
Discussions between the two leaders are scheduled for Sunday, December 13.
Kenya’s meeting with Somaliland comes at a time when both countries are experiencing a break in diplomatic ties with Somalia.
Kenyan Ministry of Foreign Affairs released Bihi’s itinerary.
In the itinerary, the foreign affairs ministry indicates that the two leaders are scheduled to discuss issues such as trade and security.
The dispatch from the foreign affairs ministry reiterates the need for “building stronger relations between both nations.”
