Laftagareen Attends 129th Anniversary of Adwa Victory in Baidoa

President Abdiaziz Hassan Mohamed Laftagareen of the Southwest State was one of the main guests at the 129th anniversary of the Adwa Victory in Baidoa on Monday.

His speech at the anniversary celebrations underscores the enduring historical and cultural bonds between Somalia and Ethiopia.

By referring to the nations as “two brotherly countries,” Laftagareen highlighted a relationship built on mutual respect and cooperation.

His commitment to strengthening ties between the Southwest State and Ethiopia suggests a focus on enhancing collaboration across various sectors.

This initiative aligns with President Laftagareen’s broader efforts to bolster regional development and governance.

Notably, in December 2024, he inaugurated the headquarters of the National Identification and Registration Agency (NIRA) in Baidoa, aiming to improve administrative services and prepare for upcoming electoral processes.

Additionally, he laid the foundation stone for the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Local Governments, and Reconciliation Headquarters, further strengthening the state’s administrative framework.

These developments, coupled with his recent speech, reflect a strategic vision to foster regional stability and economic growth through strengthened partnerships, particularly with neighboring Ethiopia.
