Landmine Explosion Kills 10 People in Lower Shabelle

A landmine explosion in the Lower Shabelle region has left at least 10 individuals dead while injuring 13 others early on Sunday morning.

Local residents who witnessed the incident said that a minibus truck full of passengers struck the landmine while traveling between Lafole and Hawa Abdi.

According to authorities, all the dead are civilians. The thirteen people injured in the blast are also civilians.

No group has emerged to claim responsibility for the incident.

However, Al-Shabaab is notorious for setting up such landmines all over the country when targeting government officers, military personnel, or innocent civilians.
