One of Somalia’s leading peace activists is dead.
Professor Abdullahi Shirwa passed away in Mogadishu on the night of Saturday, May 28.
His family and friends have already confirmed the passing away of the renowned and highly revered civil society leader.
Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble led the country in mourning the death of one of Somalia’s most prominent sons.
In his message of condolences, the Prime Minister described Prof. Shirwa as a “hero.”
