Lower House MP to be NISA’s New Director

The Federal Government of Somalia (FGS) is expected to appoint a prominent House of the People (Lower House) legislator as the new spy chief.

Mahad Salad has already earned the approval of the Council of Cabinet.

The current Council of Cabinet, which has served since the reign of ex-President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo, approved his name on May 26.

Consequently, it’s now upon President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud to make the formal appointment.

Once President Mohamud does that, Salad would then become the new Director of the National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA).
