The Speaker of the House of the People (Lower House) held discussions with the United Kingdom Ambassador to Somalia.
Speaker Sheikh Aden Madobe and Ambassador Kate Foster held discussions on Thursday, May 5.
They met in the nation’s capital.
During the meeting, Speaker Madobe and Ambassador Foster discussed wide-ranging issues.
Top on their agenda was the need for holding fair, credible, peaceful, and transparent presidential elections.
Somalia is scheduled to hold presidential elections on May 15.
Speaker Madobe was in the company of First Deputy Speaker Sa’diya Yasin.
Ambassador Foster promised continued support in different sectors from the British government to Somalia.
Britain is one of Somalia’s most important international allies.
