The Speaker of the House of the People (Lower House) inspected the venue that legislators would use for electing Somalia’s new President on Sunday.
Speaker Sheikh Aden Madobe inspected Afisyoni on Tuesday, May 10.
Thus far, Afisyoni has been the venue for swearing-in newly-elected lawmakers for the Lower House and Senate (Upper House).
The tent at Afisyoni also acted as the venue for the election of the leadership of both chambers of the federal parliament.
It would also act as the venue for the May 15 presidential elections.
Candidates would also address parliamentarians at Afisyoni before the elections for Somalia’s new President.
