The Governor of Lower Shabelle spent the better part of Friday, July 1 visiting the camps for internally displaced persons (IDPs).
The Governor, together with a team from his administration, visited several IDP camps, specifically those in Marka town.
The camps are full of people who left their homes to escape the ongoing drought, which continues to create huge humanitarian problems.
The Lower Shabelle Governor appealed for emergency humanitarian intervention to forestall the crisis.
