The leader of the regional state of Jubbaland traveled to El-Wak to witness the elections for House of the People (Lower House) seats.
President Ahmed Islam Madobe traveled to El-Wak on Friday.
Elections for the remaining 16 Lower House seats in the region are scheduled for April 22, 2022.
Officials from the Federal Elections Implementation Team (FEIT) are also in El-Wak for the polls.
Security officers were deployed to the region to secure it for the polls throughout the week.
