President Ahmed Mohamed Islam Madobe of Puntland has congratulated the newly elected President of HirShabelle for emerging victorious in the recent presidential polls.
Ali Gudlawe Hussein was elected the new President of HirShabelle.
Yusuf Ahmed Hagar won the Deputy President elections.
Madobe told Gudlawe that he wishes him success as he takes over the leadership of the semiautonomous state of HirShabelle.
Gudlawe and Hagar were overwhelmingly elected by HirShabelle Regional Parliament on November 11.
He takes over from Mohamed Abdi Waare who resigned from office a few days before the presidential elections.
