President Ahmed Islam Madobe of Jubbaland denied accusations by the Federal Government of Somalia (FGS) that Kenya influenced his recent views on the elections agreement.
Madobe said this while delivering his speech during the ongoing Heritage Institute for Policy Studies (HIPS) forum in Garowe, Puntland.
Recently, Madobe said that he would not allow elections to take place in Jubbaland unless the government ceded control of the Gedo region back to his administration.
President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo then accused Kenya of interfering in its affairs by persuading Madobe to change his views on the September 17, 2020 agreement.
However, on Wednesday, December 30, Madobe refuted all these accusations and reports.
He said that the government was wrong in laying such an accusation on the Kenyan doorstep.
