President Ahmed Islam Madobe of the semiautonomous region of Jubbaland held discussions on the ongoing electoral impasse with two former Somalia presidents.
Madobe met with ex-President Sharif Sheikh Ahmed and ex-President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud in Mogadishu on March 10.
The meeting is the latest between stakeholders in the East African nation.
Representatives from the Federal Government of Somalia (FGS), Federal Member States (FMS), and the opposition have held similar initiatives in the recent past.
However, almost all of them have proved unsuccessful.
During their Wednesday meeting, the three leaders discussed solutions to the months-long electoral impasse.
The political standoff between President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo on one side and the opposition plus regional states on the other grabbed their attention too.
