President Ahmed Islam Madobe of Jubbaland has expressed willingness to take part in any dialogue between the Federal Government of Somalia (FGS) and opposition politicians.
Madobe issued this statement on January 10 when he returned to Kismayo from Garowe, the administrative capital of Puntland.
During his press conference on Sunday, President Madobe said that he remains keen on the dialogue efforts led by President Ahmed Abdi Kariye Qoorqoor.
On Sunday, January 10, Qoorqoor, the third President of Galmudug, said that he would be willing to broker discussions and deals between the government and the opposition.
Nevertheless, Qoorqoor said that his previous efforts at mediating the elections impasse had failed.
He admitted his failure after Prime Minister Roble announced that the country would proceed with parliamentary and presidential elections.
