Madobe Returns to Kismayo as National Consultative Summit Ends

President Ahmed Mohamed Islam Madobe has returned to Jubbaland after a month away attending the National Consultative Summit.

The plane carrying President Madobe landed at the Kismayo airport on October 2.

Madobe and other regional leaders met with the Federal Government of Somalia (FGS) leadership to discuss issues surrounding the planned parliamentary and presidential elections.

At the end of the Summit, FGS and Federal Member States (FMS) signed an agreement that sets the stage for elections to take place on time.

Some of the most senior members of Madobe’s administration were at the airport to receive and welcome him back home.
