Madobe Summons Top Jubbaland Security Officers after Friday’s Terror Attack

President Ahmed Islam Madobe of Jubbaland has summoned all the top security officers in the semiautonomous state following Friday’s terror attack at a mosque in Kismayo.

On Friday, Al-Shabaab extremists launched a deadly attack targeting Shafi Rabi Kahin, the local Chairperson of the Jubbaland Chamber of Commerce.

Reports show that three people died in the blast while several others were injured.

Madobe, who was in Mogadishu for election talks at the time, immediately departed the nation’s capital to return to Kismayo.

Details of the issues that Madobe discussed with his security chiefs have not been released.

However, it is not lost on observers that he has been at the forefront of asking for the complete removal and annihilation of the extremists from Jubbaland.

Al-Shabaab has a history of not only recruiting but also training young fighters from Jubbaland.

Jubbaland forces, Somali National Army (SNA), African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM), and US Africa Command (AFRICOM) often conduct joint military operations to destroy Al-Shabaab.
