BAIDOA — House of the People Speaker Aden Mohamed Nur (Madobe) has issued a strong call for unity and cooperation among the residents of South West State, emphasizing that broad public support is crucial for strengthening stability and governance in the region during this transition.
A Call for Unity and Cooperation
Speaking to the press and local stakeholders upon his arrival at Shati Gaduud Airport in Baidoa, the interim capital of South West State, the speaker strongly urged local communities to work closely with authorities to advance peace and regional development.
This public address comes directly on the heels of the Speaker’s deployment to lead the federal transition team, a move designed to stabilize the region following the recent federal military takeover of Baidoa and the negotiated resignation of former President Abdiaziz Laftagareen.
Building an Effective Administration
Speaker Madobe firmly stated that robust cooperation between everyday citizens and the incoming leadership is essential to building an effective administration and sustaining progress in the aftermath of the recent political upheaval. His remarks perfectly align with ongoing, coordinated efforts by federal security officials and the interim regional administration to prioritize public safety and maintain civic order.
The speaker’s unifying remarks come as the Federal Government of Somalia significantly increases its active engagement with various regional stakeholders, aiming to deliberately reinforce national cohesion and bridge historical divides amidst the country’s ongoing political tensions.
