A series of major terror attacks rocked Somalia’s capital of Mogadishu on Wednesday, February 16.
According to security sources, the terrorists seemed to have targeted the southern and northern parts of Mogadishu.
First, militants attacked a police station in Kahda.
Next, they followed this up with an explosion at DaruSalaam, specifically next to Yaqshid.
Eyewitness reports from Kahda stated that fierce gunfire followed the earlier explosion. They reported that the gunfire was quite lengthy.
A police vehicle was damaged in the Kahda incident.
Later in the night, Al-Shabaab claimed responsibility for the two attacks through the group’s proxy media.
More attacks then followed in Kahda, Elasha Biyaha, Daynile, and Hodan.
The number of casualties involved in the attacks is not yet clear.
