Members of the Al-Shabaab group based in Jilib town executed a man accused of being a sorcerer on Wednesday.
The incident left local residents in shock.
A militant judge was appointed to prosecute and hear the case. The man, identified as Ahmed Kusane Hassan, was presented before the judge to defend himself.
He was accused of putting a spell on a married couple living in Joorraha area of Jilib town.
Consequently, the couple’s marriage never worked out. Instead, they fell out with each other because of Hassan’s sorcery.
Pro-Shabaab media had accused Hassan publicly.
Later, members of the Al-Qaeda linked group whose presence in the area continues to create jitters executed him at the conclusion of his case.
