A man who was jailed for life for attempting to blow up a plane has died in a Somali prison.
Authorities confirmed that the man, Abdiweli Mohamed Maow, passed away on Friday, May 27.
Maow was arrested and convicted in 2016.
He was found guilty of smuggling a laptop bomb intended to blow up a plane full of passengers in February 2016.
It is not yet clear how Maow died. Authorities are yet to inform the public about the disease that killed him or the circumstances that led to his death.
