Dr. Mohamed Abdi Gabose, one of the most prominent doctors in Somaliland, has faulted the overreliance on media as the main tool for increasing awareness of COVID-19 in the country.
He called for more action from different quarters to avert what could very well be a threat of unimaginable proportions.
Dr. Gabose called on the country’s leadership to be more decisive. He asked them to do more to prevent problems associated with COVID-19 from getting worse.
The doctor asked for more multipronged strategies and solutions such as mass testing.
He also asked community elders to play a more prominent role in coming up with solutions for their people to ensure that the virulent disease does not spread further in the country.
Furthermore, Dr. Gabose advised members of the public to adhere to the guidelines and directives issued by the Ministry of Health and World Health Organization.
He also said that the measures the government has imposed must be enforced since they are for everybody’s benefit.
