Members of the United States Congress visited Somaliland on December 15.
During their time in Hargeisa, the capital of Somaliland, the US Congressmen and women held a meeting with President Muse Bihi Abdi.
President Bihi discussed several issues with them.
He said that his administration would pursue closer cooperation with democratic nations such as the United States.
The congressmen and women were mostly from the Foreign Relations Committee.
Bihi’s meeting with the congress members took place at the Presidential Palace in Hargeisa.
The US delegation is also scheduled to tour Berbera Port and the newly built airport.
Both facilities are tipped to make Somaliland more attractive to investors thus expanding the region’s economy.
