Governor Ahmed Meyre Makaraan of Middle Shabelle has visited the scene where eight health workers were murdered and dumped.
He was accompanied by Abdulkadir Arabow Ibrahim, who is a Member of Parliament in the Lower House.
Last week, eight health workers were abducted before being murdered and their bodies dumped by the roadside.
Their brutal murder attracted condemnation from some global organizations and the country’s biggest international partners.
The United Nations, the United States, the European Union, and the World Health Organization all criticized their deaths, especially when the country is reeling under the impact of COVID-19.
While on the scene, Gov. Makaraan and MP Arabow got a chance to speak with the locals, who advised them to ensure that investigations are carried out efficiently.
The two leaders promised the locals that those responsible for the macabre act would be arrested and prosecuted in court.
