Somalia’s military court has traveled to Beled Hawo for the trial of an Al-Shabaab defector.
The man, whose identity remains hidden for now, allegedly masqueraded as an Al-Shabaab defector.
However, authorities later discovered that his real mission was to infiltrate government forces.
If successful, the supposed defector was to furnish the Al-Qaeda linked group with intelligence reports on the plans and activities of the military.
Lately, the extremists have upped their attacks around the country.
Mostly, they seem more interested in launching attacks against government troops, security officers, military and innocent civilians.
For a long time, there have been reports that members of the militia had inside help based on the knowledge they have of government troops.
