The military carried out an operation that led to the killing of six Al-Shabaab terrorists in Galgadud.
Somali National Army (SNA) forces were in the region on Tuesday conducting the operation.
Sources added that the number of terrorists killed could be higher than six, though.
SNA troops then seized a number of weapons abandoned by the fleeing terrorists.
Military personnel expressed gratitude to the local community.
They attributed the successful operation to cooperation by the local community.
