A federal minister met with the United States Ambassador to discuss the role of women in advancing security in Somalia.
Khadija M. Diriye discussed this and other issues with Ambassador Larry Andre in Mogadishu.
Diriye is the federal Minister of Women and Human Rights Development. She was in the company of several senior ministry officials during her meeting with Ambassador Andre.
Their meeting took place on Sunday, September 18.
Diriye and Ambassador Andre agreed that Somali women can play a critical role in not only security but also economic development and democracy.
