A government minister has called upon the young men and women of Somaliland to vote peacefully in the upcoming polls.
Suleiman Yusuf Ali Koore, the Minister of Information, Culture, and National Guidance, issued this call on July 31.
He was speaking while praising Jama Musa Jama, the founder of the Hargeisa International Book Fair.
Koore said that Jama had given Somaliland international exposure through his book fair, which has now become an annual event.
In his speech, Koore urged the youths of Somaliland to use peaceful means to take part in nation-building.
He was speaking in the wake of recent protests in Hargeisa and other parts of Somaliland.
Opposition politicians have been urging their supporters to take to the streets in protest against plans by President Muse Bihi Abdi to postpone elections that are set for November 2022.
