A ministerial form has been formed to look into the claims that striking workers filed against their employer, FAVORI LLC.
The striking workers downed their tools to protest the blatant abuse of their rights by FAVORI, which is responsible for managing operations at Aden Adde International Airport in Mogadishu.
Sadik Warfa, the Minister of Labor and Social Affairs under the Federal Government of Somalia, will lead the ministerial committee.
Deqa Yasin, the Minister of Women and Human Rights Development under President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo’s administration, will join Warfa in the committee.
The Federation of Somali Trade Unions (FESTU) is also expected to have a representative in the committee.
FAVORI LLC, a Turkey-owned company, and the workers will also send their representative as will the airport authority.
