There were mixed reactions to the appointment of a new administration for the Gedo region.
Several leaders, including Governor Ahmed Buule Garad of Gedo, added their voices to the condemnation that has followed the appointment.
Jubbaland’s President Ahmed Islam Madobe recently appointed a new administration to run the affairs of Gedo.
Governor Garad categorically stated that any Madobe appointee is unwelcome in Gedo.
Lawmakers representing Jubbaland at the federal parliament have opposed the new appointments too.
Nevertheless, support for President Madobe’s appointments has come from Garbaharrey, which is the capital of Gedo.
