Mobile Internet Down in Somalia for the Second Day Running

Somalia has been experiencing problems with mobile Internet for the last two days.

According to Hormuud Telecom, the country’s main telecom company, the downtime is occasioned by a shunt fault in the submarine cable.

Further, Hormuud believes the problem is the result of the windy conditions that have hit the country and the entire region in the last few weeks.

However, NetBlocks.org, an Internet freedom watchdog, the weather conditions have been excellent at the time the disruptions took place.

In the meantime, consumers around the country will have to wait a bit longer for the situation to improve to enable them to access Internet on their mobile devices.
