Calmness has returned to Mogadishu following the end of clashes between the Somali Police Force (SPF) and the local militia.
Police announced the end of the clashes on Saturday morning.
Clashes between the police and militia loyal to Gen. Sheegow Ahmed broke out at his residence on Friday.
A police source denied claims that Gen. Sheegow’s residence in Mogadishu had been targeted following reports that his militia was implicated in several robberies in the city.
Police officers have already been dispersed from the area around Gen. Sheegow’s residence.
