Mogadishu Court Sentences Sahan Research Director to Five Years in Prison

The Benadir Regional Court has sentenced the Director of Sahan Research to a prison term of five years.

The Mogadishu court found Matt Brydan guilty of leaking national secrets to foreign governments and agencies.

According to sources, the court sentenced Brydan on October 26.

Brydan, who heads the research center, is based in Kenya.

The court passed judgment on the Canadian analyst while acquitting five other people who had been accused with him.

Brydan’s sentence follows the one passed in 2018 banning him from operating or working anywhere in Somalia.
