The Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan Training and Research Hospital in Mogadishu has announced the successful birth of quintuplets at the facility.
The hospital hailed the birth as one of the “rarest” in the world.
On Monday, it posted a message on Twitter indicating that a Somali woman had given birth to the quintuplets successfully and without complications.
The medical facility announced that the mother and all her children were in “great health” recovering at the hospital.
In its tweet, the medical facility also hailed the contribution of the team of health professionals who had played a vital role in the birth.
President Recep Tayyip Erdogan inaugurated the facility in 2015, as one of the many Somali-Turkish development projects around the Horn of Africa nation.
