Port of Mogadishu Deepens Relations with Sudan, Gains Training Opportunities

Mogadishu, Somalia – The Port of Mogadishu’s General Manager, Ambassador Mohamed Ali Nur Americo, hosted a high-ranking Sudanese delegation at his office on Friday. The delegation was headed by the Sudanese Ambassador to Somalia, Abdelrahman Khalil Ahmed Afandi.

The diplomatic mission included senior officials from distinguished Sudanese educational establishments, namely Al Neelain University and Darul Salam University. The academic representatives have spent several days in the Somali capital participating in various activities.

A significant achievement of the gathering was the announcement of an educational support initiative. Amb. Americo officially accepted an offering of scholarships from Darul Salam University leadership.

These educational opportunities are specifically allocated to Mogadishu Port administration personnel, with the goal of improving the professional capabilities and academic credentials of the port’s employees.

The encounter underscored the lasting connections between both countries and the value of combining educational prospects with essential infrastructure oversight.

The event was also graced by the presence of the Deputy Manager of the Port of Mogadishu, Ismail Awmuse, demonstrating the port administration’s commitment to global partnerships and employee advancement.
