Mogadishu, Somalia – The Director General of Mogadishu Port, Amb. Abdullahi Mohamed Warfa, made an accountability visit across several operational sections of the port, observing firsthand the dedication of Somali workers as three vessels were being unloaded.
The visit, marked by close interaction with staff and laborers, reflected a leadership approach grounded in transparency and engagement. As cranes lifted cargo and workers coordinated seamless offloading under the morning sun, the Director General emphasized the crucial role that every individual plays in maintaining the port’s momentum as a hub of national trade and logistics.
His presence on the ground was more than a routine inspection — it was a show of appreciation and encouragement for those whose daily effort keeps Somalia’s busiest maritime gateway running efficiently. By listening to workers’ experiences and assessing workflow in real time, Amb. Americo reaffirmed the administration’s focus on efficiency, safety, and the welfare of port personnel.
The accountability visit also underscored the government’s broader vision to modernize Mogadishu Port and strengthen its management systems. Through consistent oversight and empowerment of staff, the port continues to stand as a symbol of Somalia’s economic resilience and the determination of its workforce to drive national progress from the docks outward.
