The Federal Government of Somalia (FGS) has given Mogadishu residents two weeks to register their firearms.
Daud Aweis, the Minister of Information, Culture, and Tourism, announced this on Thursday.
He issued the announcement on behalf of the Ministry of Internal Security.
The government assured that those who fail to comply with the new requirements should be ready to face legal actions.
Aweis added that the move is part of the government’s efforts to improve security in the nation’s capital.
