MOGADISHU, Somalia – The Minister of Internal Security for the Federal Government of Somalia, Abdullahi Sheikh Ismail Fartaag, spoke at a high-level immigration agency meeting today, offering a comprehensive assessment of the country’s security situation. He highlighted that Mogadishu is currently experiencing an unprecedented level of safety and stability.
Fartaag pointed to evident positive signs of recovery across the nation. He mentioned that the federal government has allocated significant resources toward restoring peace and improving the capabilities of state agencies tasked with ensuring public safety and providing services to the Somali population.
The minister recognized clear indications of national progress, emphasizing that the government remains steadfast in its mission to stabilize the country and eradicate threats from terrorist organizations. He reaffirmed dedication to freeing the remaining areas of Somalia from extremist control.
“Never before has Mogadishu been as safe as it is today,” Fartaag stated.
He further explained that security forces have effectively expelled Khawarij militants from extensive regions nationwide, substantially diminishing their capacity to endanger citizens and creating conditions for ongoing development.
