Mogadishu’s Afrik Hotel Reopens its Doors Five Days after Deadly Attack

Afrik Hotel in Mogadishu has reopened its doors to the public five days after being the target of a deadly terror attack.

On the evening January 31, Al-Shabaab militia launched a daring attack on the hotel.

Eleven people lost their lives in the deadly Sunday attack while dozens more were injured and rushed to hospital.

On Friday, the hotel reopened for business.

The hotel underwent a bit of renovation to repair the parts of the building that were damaged in the deadly attack.

Its reopening is further evidence of the resilience that the people of Somalia continue to demonstrate despite facing seemingly insurmountable challenges.
