Morocco to Support Somalia’s Efforts to Improve Water Management

On Wednesday, Morocco promised that it would help Somalia to improve water management in the country.

For years, Somalia has struggled with floods. It has been unable to find lasting solutions for the water drainage issues affecting its citizens.

Abdelkader Amara, Morocco’s Minister of Equipment, Transport, Logistics, and Water confirmed the news in Rabat.

He made this announcement during a meeting with his Somali counterpart, Fawzia Mohamed.

The two countries also agreed that they would establish bilateral partnership framework, which seeks to extend technical assistance to the Horn of Africa nation.

Morocco also vowed to share its expertise in developing and managing water resources. It will also enable the East African country to preserve water quality.

The North African nation would provide the assistance Somalia needs with new technology required to improve water management.
